Washington - U.S. Congressman Jerry Costello (D-IL) announced today that Southern Illinois University Carbondale has been awarded a $70,500 grant from the National Institute on Aging of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. The award is for research on synapse modification and memory retention.
"Federally funded research has many positive economic effects," Costello said. "Southern Illinois University is a premier research institution and this funding will allow these activities to go forward."
