U.S. CONGRESSMAN JERRY COSTELLO WELCOMES THE NEW AMERICAN RED CROSS HEADQUARTERS TO EDWARDSVILLE

Washington - U.S. Congressman Jerry Costello (D-IL) issued the following statement, welcoming the new American Red Cross Headquarters to University Park, on the campus of Southern Illinois University Edwardsville. The Red Cross will build a new, state-of-the art, centralized blood manufacturing and testing facility at University Park.  The Missouri-Illinois Blood Services Region, along with the National Testing Lab will move to this new location.

“I am pleased that the American Red Cross has decided to locate at University Park,” said Costello. “I was happy to be part of a collective effort with my colleague, John Shimkus, along with state, county, and local officials and business leaders in encouraging the Red Cross to make this move.”
