MOUNDS FIRE DEPARTMENT RECEIVES FIREFIGHTERS GRANT

Washington - U.S. Congressman Jerry Costello (D-IL) announced today that the Mounds Fire Department has received a $147,250 Assistance to Firefighters grant through the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. The funds will be used for vehicle acquisition. Costello cosponsored the legislation that created the Assistance to Firefighters program.

"This award will greatly enhance the Mounds Fire Department’s firefighting capabilities,” said Costello. "I will continue to work to ensure that our first responders have the resources they need to do their jobs safely and effectively.”
