Washington - U.S. Congressman Jerry Costello (D-IL) announced today that Southern Illinois University Carbondale has received a $592,000 grant from the National Science Foundation (NSF). The award is in support of the project "CAREER: Optoelectronic Sensing with Single Organic Nanowires."
"Support for scientific research helps advance the academic mission of the University," said Costello, a senior member of the House Science Committee. "As a nation, we must continue to invest in basic research as a means of educating our students and growing our economy. The National Science Foundation is at the forefront of this effort and I will continue to support its efforts."
