Washington - U.S. Congressman Jerry Costello (D-IL) announced today that the South Roxana Fire Protection District has received a $141,550 Assistance to Firefighters grant through the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. The funds will be used for operations and safety. Costello cosponsored the legislation that created the Assistance to Firefighters program.
"Improving the equipment and resources of our local fire departments is one of the most important things we can do to enhance public safety," said Costello. "Our first responders put their lives on the line everyday, and this dedication deserves our full support."
