Washington - U.S. Congressman Jerry Costello (D-IL) announced today that Southern Illinois University Carbondale (SIUC) has been awarded a $252,875 grant from the National Institute of General Medicine of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. The funds will be used for research on communication between neighboring ryanodine receptor channels in skeletal muscle.
"Federally-funded research results in many positive developments for society and SIUC continues to distinguish itself by the quality of its academic contributions," Costello said. "I will continue to support these efforts."
