Washington - U.S. Congressman Jerry Costello (D-IL) announced today that Luhr Brothers, Inc., located in Columbia, has been awarded a $10,079,000 contract by the U.S. Army. The contract is for coastal wetlands planning, protection and restoration work in Vermilion Parish, Louisiana.
"As Hurricanes Katrina and Rita have demonstrated, adequate flood control and shoreline protection is essential," said Costello. "The Gulf Region needs our help and I will be monitoring the reconstruction process closely."
