U.S. CONGRESSMAN JERRY COSTELLO PARTICIPATES IN O'FALLON STREETSCAPE PROJECT RIBBON CUTTING
O'Fallon, IL - On Monday, May 5, 2003 U.S. Congressman Jerry Costello (D-IL) participated in a ribbon cutting for the new downtown O'Fallon Streetscape Project.
Costello, along with local officials, officially cut the ribbon on the occasion of the final completion of the $385,000 project. The Streetscape project, funded in part by $245,000 in federal funds, included the installation of period lighting, improved landscaping and other improvements in O'Fallon's downtown. The ceremony was held at the O'Fallon Downtown Train Depot.
Costello said that "these types of projects greatly improve the quality of life in our area communities and creates more opportunities for economic development in our downtown areas. I will continue to support these efforts."
