Washington- U.S. Congressman Jerry Costello (D-IL) announced today that General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems, located in Marion, has been awarded a $23,991,941.32 contract by the U.S. Army. The contract is for the production of 1,431,300 each of 25mm target practice with tracer cartridges for the M973, 22,000 each of 25mm target practice with tracer cartridges for the M793 and 673,320 each of 25mm target practice discarding sabot with tracer cartridges.
"This project is critical to our national defense and will help sustain the local and national economies," said Costello. "I will continue to work to ensure that sufficient resources are available for these activities."
