U.S. CONGRESSMAN JERRY COSTELLO PARTICIPATES IN RIBBON CUTTING OF NORTHROP GRUMMAN OFFICE IN O'FALLON
O'Fallon, IL - On Monday, June 16, 2003 U.S. Congressman Jerry Costello (D-IL), along with local, state and other federal officials, participated in a grand opening and ribbon cutting ceremony for the new Northrop Grumman office in O'Fallon, Illinois.
Costello, made remarks and cut the ribbon to officially open the new Northrop Grumman office located at 670 Pierce Blvd. in O'Fallon, Illinois.
Northrop Grumman's Information technology group won a $63.8 million contract from the U.S. Air Force that will create 150 new jobs at the O'Fallon office. Under the six-year contract, Northrop Grumman will develop the Defense Department's next generation information system called GTN-21 or Global Transportation Network 21. This new system will improve the ability to provide near real-time visibility of passengers and material moving through the Defense Transportation System.
This system is based out of US TRANSCOM which is located at Scott Air Force Base. US TRANSCOM oversees the movement of all material within the Defense Department.
