DONGOLA, PERCY FIRE DEPARTMENTS RECEIVE FIREFIGHTER GRANTS

Washington - U.S. Congressman Jerry Costello (D-IL) announced today that the Dongola Auxiliary Fire Department has received a $59,900 Assistance to Firefighters grant and the Village of Percy Fire Department has received a $27,000 award. Both grants will be used for fire operations and firefighter safety and are through the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. Costello cosponsored the legislation that created the Assistance to Firefighters program.

"Our first responders need adequate resources to do their jobs," said Costello. "Working to ensure public safety must remain our number one priority."
