Washington- U.S. Congressman Jerry Costello (D-IL) announced today that the City of West Frankfort has received a $142,500 Rural Business Enterprise grant from the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Office of Rural Development. The funds will be used to renovate and modernize the former Mark Turcan Boat Facility to accommodate four businesses with the possibility of future growth.
"These funds will be combined with local and state monies to spur economic development," said Costello. "We need to continue to maximize our existing infrastructure to create business opportunities and jobs."
