SOUTHERN ILLINOIS UNIVERSITY CARBONDALE RECEIVES HEAD START GRANT

Washington - U.S. Congressman Jerry Costello (D-IL) announced today that Southern Illinois University Carbondale (SIUC) has been awarded a $1,507,704 Head Start grant from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.  The money will be used for the full-year, part-day Handicapped Training and Technical Assistance program.

"Head Start is one of our most valuable programs for young children," Costello said.  "This funding will continue an outstanding initiative to benefit children and to give them the opportunity to learn and succeed."
