U.S. CONGRESSMAN JERRY COSTELLO PRESENTS LOCAL LAW ENFORCEMENT ASSISTANCE GRANT CHECK TO ROYALTON POLICE DEPARTMENT

Royalton, IL - On Saturday, July 10, 2004 U.S. Congressman Jerry Costello (D-IL) presented a Local Law Enforcement Assistance Grant check to Royalton Police Chief Dennis Bush at the Royalton City Hall.
Costello presented Chief Bush and Royalton Mayor Christy Brower with a mock grant check in the amount of $15,000. Royalton will use these grant funds to purchase a new police car for the department.
The Byrne Local Law Enforcement Assistance Grant is administered by the Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA), U.S. Department of Justice. The purpose of the grant program is to provide funds to units of local government to underwrite projects to reduce crime and improve public safety.
