Moore Joins Washington Celebrations for KU Jayhawks

(WASHINGTON, D.C.) – On Tuesday, the White House and U.S. Congress held several events to honor the 2008 University of Kansas men’s basketball team. Congressman Dennis Moore (Third District – Kansas), who sponsored a resolution congratulating the Jayhawks on their outstanding season, released the following statement regarding their visit:

“As a KU fan and alum, I’m proud to welcome the team to Washington, D.C., for this day-long celebration of their outstanding achievements,” Moore said. “It would have been easy for them to get caught up in all of the attention, but given their visit to Walter Reed Army Medical Center yesterday, that clearly hasn’t happened. This team and their coaches continue to display the utmost class and professionalism, making it clear that they are not just exceptional athletes, but also exceptional men."
