METRO RECEIVES TRANSPORTATION GRANT

Washington - U.S. Congressman Jerry Costello (D-IL) announced today that METRO has been awarded a $4,998,000 Bus and Bus Facilities grant through the U.S. Department of Transportation. The funds will be used for fare collection and bridge reconstruction projects.

“Public transportation is an important component of economic development,” said Costello. “It also provides important options for commuters and environmental benefits. We must continue to provide adequate resources to maintain our transportation infrastructure.”
