COSTELLO ANNOUNCES HUD GRANT FOR CDBG OPERATIONS CORPORATION
Washington - U.S. Congressman Jerry Costello (D-IL) announced today that the CDBG Operations Corporation, Inc., located in East St. Louis, has been awarded a $43,400 Housing Counseling grant from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). The funds will be used to provide housing counseling to homebuyers, homeowners and renters.
"As we have seen during the recent crisis in the subprime mortgage market, it is important that people know the basics about homeownership," Costello said. "Buying a home is the biggest purchase most consumers will ever make, so understanding the process is critical."
