Moore announces over 2 million in federal funding for Head Start program

(WASHINGTON, DC) – Congressman Dennis Moore (Third District -- Kansas) announced $2,350,080 in federal funding for the Economic Opportunity Foundation’s Head Start programs in Kansas City, KS.

“Head Start programs provide a wonderful place where kids can come not only to learn and play, but also to develop the skills they will need to be successful in the future,” Moore said. “These programs have always done an excellent job of beginning our children on the path to success and this funding will ensure that Kansas children continue to receive the care, attention, and early education opportunities they deserve.”

The grant, from the Department of Health and Human Services, will fund the Economic Opportunity Foundation’s full-time and part-time programming for a full year. Dorothy Harvey, director of the Head Start program in Kansas City, KS, will oversee the program.
