Congressional office helps WWII vets obtain medals

(OVERLAND PARK, KS) – Recently, the office of Congressman Dennis Moore (Third District – Kansas) helped two World War II veterans receive reissued medals for service to their country.

"John Kraly and Charles Wirth both served our nation with distinction in World War II. I was proud to help them receive the medals they earned as a result of their service," said Moore.

Charles L. Wirth, Jr., a member of American Legion Post #327 in Shawnee, KS, received his World War II Victory Medal. His wife, Naomi, joined him at the ceremony.

John M. Kraly, Sr., a member of VFW Strawberry Hill Post #7026 in Kansas City, KS, and American Legion Dwight Cowles Post #370 in Overland Park, KS, received his Purple Heart for injuries sustained in World War II.

"Working with veterans to help them receive medals that they earned in the military is just one of the many constituent services that our office provides," said Moore. Since being elected in 1998, Moore and his offices have helped thousands of individuals, families, and businesses with everything from getting Social Security benefits to speeding up passport delivery to assistance with the Veterans Administration.

"I can’t promise the same outcome for every call we receive, but I can promise that I will do my best to make sure Kansans are treated fairly by federal agencies, whether it is Social Security, the Veterans Administration, or any other agency," said Moore.

More information is available in the "Constituent Services" section of Moore’s website, located at http://www.house.gov/moore/ .
