Moore Celebrates Selection of Kansas as Site for New Defense Facility

(WASHINGTON, D.C.) – Congressman Dennis Moore released the following statement after the final announcement that Manhattan, Kansas, would be the site for the Department of Homeland Security’s new National Bio and Agro-Defense Facility (NBAF):

"I’m thrilled to join the rest of the Kansas congressional delegation, Governor Sebelius, Lt. Gov. Mark Parkinson, Kansas State University and the Kansas Bioscience Authority in celebrating this exciting announcement.

"Thanks to the leadership and innovation going on here in Kansas, we have the wealth of expertise, resources and support that will make this facility immediately successful. It’s clear that our state is simply the best place for this important facility.

"I congratulate the entire state on this outstanding achievement and look forward to the many exciting developments that are sure to come."
