Publication Series Definitions
All Station publications are subject to rigorous peer review.
GTR - General Technical Reports: information of a technical nature, but not an original report; computer programs, annotated bibliographies, and so forth.
P - Proceedings: (started in 1997 with RMRS series) compilations of articles resulting from scientific or policymaking meetings. Information may be technical or essay in nature.
RB - Resource Bulletins: resource inventory or economic information of permanent value on timber and other forest resources or their utilization.
RN - Research Notes: observational information on new techniques or instruments, especially of how-to-do-it type or incidental discovery.
RP - Research Papers: results, analyses, and conclusions of formal studies or experiments.
