METRO RECEIVES TRANSPORTATION GRANT

Washington - U.S. Congressman Jerry Costello (D-IL) announced today that METRO has been awarded a $3,000,000 Bus and Bus Facilities grant through the U.S. Department of Transportation. The funds will be used to replace 10 fixed-route vehicles.

“Maintaining efficient transportation systems gives commuters options and saves gasoline, and needs to be a part of any national energy policy.” said Costello. “This type of investment also leads to greater regional economic development. I will continue to work to develop transportation and energy alternatives for the nation.”
