U.S. CONGRESSMAN JERRY COSTELLO RECEIVES “FRIEND OF AGRICULTURE” AWARD

Waterloo -U.S. Congressman Jerry Costello (D-IL) received a “Friend of Agriculture” Award from ACTIVATOR, the political involvement fund of the Illinois Agricultural Association. The award ceremony was held at the Monroe County Courthouse, in Waterloo.

Illinois Agricultural Association, also known as Illinois Farm Bureau, is the state’s largest general farm organization with more than 418,000 members.

“Illinois farming has long been a major contributor in feeding the world and now, with the increasing importance of bio-fuels, Illinois farmers also play a key role in reducing our dependence on foreign sources of oil,” said Costello. “I was honored to receive this award from the Illinois Farm Bureau today and look forward to working closely with them in the future.”
