Boehner to Dem Leaders: Welcome Back … Now Give the American People their Energy Vote

Posted by Nick on September 8th, 2008

House Republicans today welcomed their well-rested Democratic colleagues back to work after their five week break.  Gathering on the steps of the Capitol, Leader Boehner and House Republicans continued to demand, as they did through the month of August, that Speaker Pelosi schedule a vote on the American Energy Act (H.R. 6566), an “all of the above” plan to lower gas prices by increasing American energy production, encouraging conservation, and promoting development of alternative fuels.

Photos from the event can be seen below or on Leader Boehner’s Flickr photostream. More information on the event here.

[…] Team Boehner is right out front hitting up the Democrats to get that energy bill vote front-and-center. Now that the Democrats have finished their five-week vacation, the conventions are done, and Pelosi is done touring the flood-damaged areas in Iowa (so nice of her to show how much she cares), everyone should be ready to get some speedy work done, leave the drilling ban to expire, take action on the Republican “All Of The Above” proposal, and get the rest of this beleagered economy back in motion. I am in the crux of getting financial help on building a BioDiesel plant in the midwest. We have been doing this since May 1 2007 and longer working with some credible people and Hedge funds in the USA and abroad. It is already sold and I cant get the money to do it….We have given 800 billion dollars who people who hate us……hate us..

Why cant I get the money to build with my entreprenuiarial spirit? 828.284.2211 Pat

Thanks to all of the Republican Congressmen/women who stepped up for the American people during the recess. Also, T Boone Pickens and Newt Gingrich who are helping to keep the issue in front of the public. It’s amazing what ‘the people’ can do with some leadership. Since Speaker Pelosi has been slow to listen, we are grateful for those who have heard us. I’m eager to see what John McCain & especially Sarah Palin will do to solve this problem when they are elected and sworn in.

Even Rove admits Republicans have been dishonest:

    Beware….

Rove is an insidious bomb thrower, and for him to say anything, ANYTHING, ANY THING the LEAST detrimental about McCain must be examined with a magnifying glass, tweezers and latex gloves. Two pairs of latex gloves.

Please note that he cannot refrain from the traditional waffling dig about “both camps ought to be careful about…” crapola. Classic! “Yes, we’re liars, but BOTH camps should refrain from being the kind of lying liars that we are.”

Puzzle me this: confronted with the lies of McCain, and the (finally!) proof that McCain’s judgment is, well, missing in action, how can anyone continue to beat the drum for this sad Republican train wreck?’
