Rep. Herseth Sandlin presented a $1 Million federal grant for the Harvey Dunn Grassland Preservation Project. The goal of the project is the perpetual protection of 24,000 acres of grassland in Kingsbury and Brookings counties with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service easements.
   Rep. Herseth Sandlin served as the master of ceremonies for the "Welcome Home, Senator Johnson" event held at the Sioux Falls Convention Center.

The House recently approved the legislation. Among other things, the CHAMP Act reauthorize's and increases funding for the State Children’s Health Insurance Program.

The appreciation day was held to commemorate Roger’s life work on behalf of veterans. Rep. Herseth Sandlin was presented with the South Dakota DAV Outstanding Legislator of the Year award at this event.
