Georgia’s Strategic and Business Plan Development in Support of the Fifty States Initiative
The goal of this project is to bring Georgia into full compliance with the Fifty States Initiative by addressing the following ingredients necessary for success, which are currently missing in Georgia:
- Making the case for a full-time, paid GIO or equivalent in Georgia
- Establishing a clearly defined authority and responsibility for coordination (i.e. strengthening the effectiveness of the existing GISCC)
- Creating a relationship with the state CIO
- Finding and engaging a political or executive champion involved in coordination
- Tying the state into national programs
- Creating a neutral, inter-governmental working environment
- Identifying sustainable funding mechanisms
- Developing a contracting authority and cost-sharing mechanisms
- Enabling statewide coordination efforts as conduits for federal initiatives
