The Department of Computer Science at Clark Atlanta University promotes education, research, and outreach in Information Security through the Information Security Research and Education Center (ISREC). Currently we offer Information Security course concentration in the Department supporting the MS Program in Computer Science. Faculty research interests cover the breadth of Information Assurance, including intrusion detection in ad-hoc networks, wireless networking, and the development of a curriculum framework for Information Assurance.

 

The Committee on National Security Systems (CNSS) and the National Security Agency (NSA) have certified that Clark Atlanta University offers a set of courseware that has been validated by National Level Information Assurance Subject Matter Experts and determined to meet National Training Standard for Information Systems Security Professionals ( NSTISSI 4011 & 4014 ).

On March 15, 2006, CAU/CIS was notified that it has been designated as a Center of Academic Excellence in Information Security and Assurance Education. This prestigious designation places CAU as a peer to the top information security programs and institutions in the nation.
