IA Academic Outreach

This is the NIETP logo Through partnerships with government, academia, and industry, NSA's Information Assurance mission advocates improvements in IA education, training, and awareness.

The National IA Education and Training Program (NIETP) operates under national authority as the national manager for IA education and training relating to national security systems. Its programs assure the very finest preparation of professionals entrusted with securing our critical information.

The NIETP develops IA training standards with the Committee on National Security Systems. It also assesses current course IA offerings to identify gaps and determine how to fill those gaps.

The NIETP encourages and recognizes universities through the National Centers of Academic Excellence in IA Education and the National Centers of Academic Excellence in Research. The NIETP is also one of the Government sponsors of the Colloquium for Information Systems Security Education.
