Workshops for U.S. Steel Workers
U.S. Steel has announced that it will be temporarily idling several of its plants, including the Granite City Works. This will result in layoffs of nearly all the workers at that facility.
Madison County Employment and Training Department is scheduling workshops for laid off workers over the next several weeks to coincide with the scheduled rounds of layoffs. The first workshops were held on December 8 and 9. The next workshops will be held at:
Granite City Township Building
2060 Delmar Ave
Granite City, Illlinois
Monday, Dec. 15
Tuesday, Dec. 16
9:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m.
