With the start of the 110th Congress, I was elected as Chairman of the Aviation Subcommittee, part of the Transportation and Infrastructure (T&I) Committee.
The Aviation Subcommittee has jurisdiction over all aspects of civil aviation, including safety, infrastructure, labor, and international issues. This jurisdiction covers all Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) programs, except for research activities, which are within the jurisdiction of the Committee on Science, on which I am also a senior member. In addition, the Subcommittee shares jurisdiction over the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB).
For a more detailed description of the Aviation Subcommittee please go to the About the Committee page on the T&I Committee web site (scroll down to "SUBCOMMITTEE ON AVIATION").
Read press releases that I have issued, related to aviation.
Find out when upcoming hearings of the Aviation Subcommittee are scheduled. These hearings can be viewed as streaming video on the Transportation and Infrastructure Committee web site.
Read about past Aviation Subcommittee hearings. This page includes links to press releases I have issued, following subcommittee hearings as well as links to the web pages on the Transportation and Infrastructure Committee web site that pertain to that hearing. This would include opening remarks, witness testimony and, in the case of recent hearings, webcasts of the hearings.
