Congresswoman Foxx and Senator Burr present the Congressional Award Gold Medal to Margaret Douglas of Winston-Salem. Each recipient must spend 2 years or more completeing at least 400 hours of community service, 200 hours of both personal development and physical fitness activities, and a 4-night Expediton of Exploration.

Congresswoman Foxx hosted a roundtable meeting on the reauthorization of No Child Left Behind. The roundtable took place in Forsyth County, February 2007. Teachers and administrators from across the fifth district and Department of Education staff were invited to participate in the discussion on reauthorization.

Congresswoman Foxx's website won the Congressional Bronze Mouse Award in March 2007. The Congressional Management Foundation's Executive Director, Beverly Bell, presented the Mouse Award to both Congresswoman Foxx and web designer Erica Shrader.

Congresswoman Foxx attended an American Trucking Association Reception to honor constituent Larry Shelton of King, N.C. Mr. Shelton was named one of 35 professional truck drivers as finalists in the selection process to become Captains on the 2007 -2008 America's Road Team.
