Fryzel Welcomes California and Nevada Credit Union League Officials
January 12, 2009, Alexandria, Va. –Chairman Michael E. Fryzel welcomed members of the California and Nevada Credit Union Leagues to National Credit Union Administration last week. The leagues were visiting the Washington DC area as part of the beginning of the 111th Congress.
“The active involvement of the California and Nevada Leagues in the governmental affairs process is impressive. It demonstrates their awareness of how important it is to interact, to have dialogue, and to work with us at NCUA on critical issues. I continue to encourage more interaction between industry leaders and our Agency,” commented Chairman Fryzel.

The National Credit Union Administration is the independent federal agency that regulates, charters and supervises federal credit unions. NCUA, with the backing of the full faith and credit of the U.S. government, also operates and manages the National Credit Union Share Insurance Fund, insuring the deposits of nearly 88.5 million account holders in all federal credit unions and the majority of state-chartered credit unions.
