Fortenberry to Hold Energy Conference with University of Nebraska
Event will Focus on Renewable Energy Technologies and Development

Lincoln, NE - On Thursday, August 10, 2006, Congressman Jeff Fortenberry will sponsor an educational conference on renewable energy, An Energy Conversion: Making Renewable Energy America's Energy, in conjunction with the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. The event will focus on five key areas of renewable energy production: ethanol, biodiesel, biomass, wind energy, and public policy assistance.

Featured sessions will include Nebraskans using cutting edge technologies to produce energy from farm wastes, an update from the National Renewable Energy Laboratory, news from leaders of the University's new Center for Energy Sciences Research and Nebraska bioenergy groups, and information from public policy experts about governmental assistance for renewable energy development projects. Some of the newest renewable fuels vehicles will also be on display.

Energy consumers, farmers, investors, and those with an interest in clean renewable energy's role in America's future are welcome and encouraged to attend this educational conference.

It will be held at the student union on the city campus of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, 14th and R Streets, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Registration begins at 8:30.
