Fortenberry Supports Passage of theForeign Operations Appropriations Act
Bill Provides Assistance for Americas International Efforts

Washington D.C. - Congressman Jeff Fortenberry joined his colleagues to support passage of the Foreign Operations, Export Financing, and Related Programs Appropriations Act. The bill provides foreign assistance, including international support for economic development in developing countries, anti-terrorism and peacekeeping measures, export promotion, and disease control. Fortenberry issued the following statement:

America is a generous and compassionate nation. We offer a hand of friendship and support to our neighbors in need.

Our generosity, however, is not without purpose nor free of accountability. Good foreign assistance policies help bring stability, order, and economic opportunity to struggling societies, in turn helping to create a more equitable and peaceful world.
