Washington, DC – U.S. Representative Judy Biggert (R-IL-13th) today issued the following statement after the Illinois House voted 114 to 1 in favor of impeaching Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich:
“Clearly, the evidence was as overwhelming for members as the vote. I commend the state legislature for working hard to move this proceeding along. The sooner that these impeachment matters are resolved, the sooner our state officials can get back to working on the big challenges facing Illinois residents.
“I hope to see the Illinois Senate proceed with all due diligence to ensure that the charges against Governor Blagojevich are dealt with swiftly and justly.”
