Charlotte Metro Electronic Crimes Task ForceAbout the CMECTFThe CMECTF investigates counterfeit corporate checks, bank fraud, embezzlements, credit card fraud and identity theft. All of these crimes may involve the use of computers. The task force also actively works to inform and educate private citizens and local businesses in areas of cyber safety and security.It is the goal of the CMECTF to work with all of its Metro-Charlotte area partners to investigate these crimes in a cohesive fashion. Members of this task force include the federal and local law enforcement community, as well financial institution, academia and members of the private sector involved in computer security.
