Dawn Washington was identified as the manufacturer and distributor of a large sum of counterfeit currency in the Connecticut, Vermont, and New York areas. In July, Washington was arrested in Troy, NY for attempting to purchase drugs with counterfeit currency. Washington provided a statement to the Secret Service Albany Resident Office admitting to manufacturing and passing approximately $80,000-$100,000 in counterfeit currency since May 2008.
On August 21, 2008, Washington was indicted by a federal grand jury in Burlington, VT for counterfeiting. A federal arrest warrant was issued on same date for the aforementioned violations. At this time, Washington's whereabouts are unknown, though she has family in Norwich Connecticut.
