Biggert to Join Area Vets for Tour of the Midwest Hyperbaric Institute in Bolingbrook, Illinois

Biggert will tour the Midwest Hyperbaric Institute (MHI) along with leaders from the Bolingbrook Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) Post 5917.  MHI provides hyperbaric oxygen therapy to treat a range of neurological conditions including those resulting from traumatic brain injury.  In order to expand care for returning veterans, the Bolingbrook VFW and MHI have formed a public-private partnership and recently applied for a $90,000 grant through the Illinois Department of Veterans’ Affairs Veterans Cash Lottery Program.  Tour participants will discuss the pending grant request and learn about treatment options available to area veterans.

Biggert to Join Volunteers at Orland Township Holiday Program & Food Pantry, Accept Award from National Network for Youth

As part of the Orland Township Holiday Program, Biggert will join local volunteers working to sort and pack food, clothing, and toy donations destined for area families in need.  Those wishing to volunteer for the program or make a donation can stop by the Orland Township Office or call (708) 403-4222 for more information. 
 
A representative from the National Network For Youth, a leading advocacy and service organization dedicated to runaway and homeless children, also will be on hand to present Biggert with an award recognizing her efforts as the lead Republican cosponsor of the Reconnecting Homeless Youth Act (H.R. 5224/S. 2982), which increases and enhances the resources available to runaway and homeless youth shelters.  The bill was signed into law on October 8th.
