“I commend President-Elect Obama on a great pick.
“After 14 years in Congress, Ray LaHood has earned the respect of colleagues on both sides of the aisle for his efforts to build bridges, set aside partisanship, and accomplish results for the people. I’m confident those relationships will serve him well as we take on big challenges like fixing the nation’s infrastructure and passing the next five-year transportation bill.
“The Obama Administration can benefit greatly from Ray’s experience, relationships, and his strong, candid, and moderate voice. Like many, I look forward to working with him in his new capacity and wish him the best of luck.”
