REP HERSETH SANDLIN CONGRATULATES ROSEBUD SIOUX TRIBE
ON OPENING OF AERI FACILITY

Rep. Herseth Sandlin offers her congratulations to the Rosebud Sioux Tribe, including Tribal President Rodney Bordeaux and members of the Tribal Council, on the recent opening of the Advanced Electronic Rosebud Integration facility on the Rosebud Sioux Tribe Reservation.

“This extraordinary facility will not only develop state-of-the-art products that serve to better protect our country, it will inspire economic development and provide ground-breaking research and learning opportunities in Indian Country. I will continue working in Congress to ensure that that the facility receives the adequate resources necessary to carry out this work that is vital to the defense of our nation,” Rep. Herseth Sandlin said.

Rep. Herseth Sandlin has been a steadfast supporter of this facility, which will research and develop lead-free circuit boards for Radiance Technologies which has a contract with the US Army Space and Missile Defense Command.

Full text of the letter to attendees of the ribbon-cutting ceremony is below:

Dear Friends:

Thank you for inviting me to today’s ribbon cutting of the Advanced Electronic Rosebud Integration Facility. Unfortunately, my Congressional duties in Washington prevent me from attending this celebration in person. However, I appreciate your allowing my Western Area Field Representative, Rick Hanson, to offer a few comments on my behalf.

Today is truly an exciting day for the Rosebud Sioux Tribe and its partners who worked to make today’s ribbon cutting ceremony a reality. The Advanced Electronic Rosebud Integration, or AERI, facility will be home to the research, development, and production of advanced electronics integration and fabrication technology on the Rosebud reservation. The work you do here will contribute to the defense and security of our country, as the electronics you develop will have applications for space and missile defense system technologies.

Furthermore, the completion of this building marks an important step towards positive economic development on Rosebud. In particular, I am excited to see the collaboration among the Rosebud Sioux Tribe, Sinte Gleska University, Radiance Technologies, Inc, the U.S. Army and Space Missile Defense Command, and other organizations that have “come to the table” to envision and create this innovative facility. These tribal, federal, and private partnerships are essential to economic and business development in Indian Country.

Again, congratulations to the Rosebud community and all of those involved in making today’s ribbon cutting a reality. I look forward to visiting this facility and learning more about the important work that will be accomplished at this site.

Sincerely,

Stephanie Herseth Sandlin
Member of Congress
