PENCE CONGRATULATES BALL STATE FOR STELLAR SEASON

Washington, Jan 7 - U.S. Congressman Mike Pence released the following statement after the Ball State University Cardinals concluded their historic season last night with a loss in the GMAC Bowl to Tulsa:

“I want to recognize the outstanding student-athletes on the Ball State football team for their hard work, amazing teamwork, and admirable character during this thrilling football season.

“While the season ended on a disappointing note, it should not diminish what was an extraordinary run by this talented team, starting the season 12-0 and climbing as high as 12th in the national rankings and making it to the MAC Championship game.

“Fans will forever remember the way the team and the larger community came together in the wake of Dante Love’s season-ending injury and the courage both Dante and the rest of the team displayed in continuing to fight on, representing the best of Ball State and the Hoosier spirit.

“All Hoosiers can be proud of the Cardinals and I ask them to join me in applauding them on a job well done, a season well-played and we all look forward to the continued success of these young men, both on and off the field.”
