PENCE HONORS INDIANA’S FALLEN HEROES ON FIFTH ANNIVERSARY OF WAR
“Their service and sacrifice will never be forgotten”

Congressman Pence, speaking at a recent event.

Washington, Mar 19, 2008 - U.S. Congressman Mike Pence, Ranking Member on the Middle East and South Asia Subcommittee released this statement today, on the fifth anniversary of the beginning of the war in Iraq:

"On this fifth anniversary of the beginning of the war in Iraq, we mourn the losses of the men and women in uniform who have given their lives to defend the freedom we all cherish.

“The loss of any promising young life is tragic, but the loss of a young hero to our community is incalculable.

“The Good Book instructs that we give to each what he is owed – if it is respect, then respect, if it is honor, than honor.

“And so, I honor those Hoosiers who paid the ultimate price for their country’s freedom and the families which they represent. Their service and sacrifice will never be forgotten by the people of Eastern Indiana and our nation.”
