To designate the facility of the United States Postal Service located at 2633 11th Street in Rock Island, Illinois, as the "Lane Evans Post Office Building" (H.R. 521)
With the support of the Illinois Congressional delegation and the Rock Island community, I introduced a bill to name the post office in Rock Island, IL after my good friend and predecessor, the former Congressman Lane Evans. Lane honorably served the IL-17th Congressional District for 24 years, retiring in 2006. This bill became law on March 15, 2007 with the dedication of the post office following on July 9, 2007.
