Congresswoman Herseth talks with sculptor Benjamin Victor about the third in a series of statues for the War Memorial at the Aberdeen airport. The female soldier depicts “Reflections and Emotions of the Aftermath”. The soldier has a heavy pack on her back, symbolizing the burden of war. She will be placing a rose on a soldier’s grave. Victor is Artist in Residence at Northern State University. He is the youngest artist to have a sculpture in Statuary Hall in the U.S. Capitol Building.
