This version includes a full installation of the Web browser and the most recent version of Outlook Express, the e-mail client that is included with Internet Explorer.

Staying Secure

After you've installed Internet Explorer 6 SP1, you'll want to make sure you have the latest updates for your computer. About This Download

Total download size for a typical installation is approximately 25 megabytes (MB). However, because Setup downloads only those files that are necessary for your computer, this size can vary between 11 and 75 MB.

Note: Internet Explorer 6 SP1 is included with Windows XP Service Pack 1 (SP1). If Windows XP SP1 is installed on your computer, you do not need to download and install Internet Explorer 6 SP1.

For a list of issues that are addressed in Internet Explorer 6 SP1, read Microsoft Knowledge Base Article 326489.
