MEDICARE PART B

 

Does Medicare Part B pay for prescription drugs?

 

Medicare Part B allows payment for some immunosuppressive, oral, anti-emetic and nebulizer drugs. 

 

MEDICARE PART D

 

The Medicare Prescription Drug, Improvement and Modernization Act of 2003 created the Medicare Prescription Drug Plan, commonly known as Medicare Part D.  Persons who are eligible for Part A or Part B are also eligible for Part D.  Eligible persons will need to sign up for the plan of their choice.  You can sign up at www.Medicare.gov or call 1-800-Medicare. 

 

There is also Extra Help for those who may not be able to afford their Part D premium.  To apply for Extra Help contact your local Social Security Administration office; go online to www.socialsecurity.gov or call 1-800-772-1213.

 

MEDICARE CARD

 

I lost my Medicare Card.  How do I get a new one?

 

If you lose your card, contact your local Social Security Administration office or 1-800-772-1213.  You can also apply online at www.medicare.gov or www.socialsecurity.gov.


CHANGE OF ADDRESS

To protect you and ensure the receipt of your benefits, please let the Social Security office know that your address has changed. The number for the Social Security Administration is 1-800-772-1213. 
 

POWER OPERATED VEHICLE

 

You need a signed and dated prescription from your treating physician prior to purchasing the POV.  Supporting documentation for the need of the POV will also be required.
