WASHINGTON —Congresswoman Laura Richardson said, “In the days and nights of our police officers working to catch robbers, predators and gang members, I am pleased to announce a $319, 596 grant that will enable our officers to solve old cases, put walking criminals on our streets in jail and minimize city costs by maximizing DNA technology and testing our police officers can utilize resources to protect our neighbors of repeat offenders.
In the state legislature, I authored and the Governor signed into law, AB 1079 which enables better coordination of crime labs and testing results. Today’s grant is a continuation of my commitment to make our streets safer
