Thanks for your question, Carol. The goals that we hope to evaluate will
differ for each student, but some examples might be:
 
*completing his/her GED
*participating in a parent-teacher conference with his/her child's
teacher
*getting a job/promotion
*reading the newspaper in English
*gaining US citizenship
*helping his/her children with their homework
 
Any suggestions for research-based tools to evaluate the progress
towards such goals is greatly appreciated!
