SUBJECT:      2008 Adult Basic Education State Report RFP
 
The Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board has been designated as the lead agency in aligning Adult Basic Education (ABE) and postsecondary education under House Bill 1, General Appropriations Act (Section 50, Page III-57, Page III-22), and the 80th Texas Legislature.
 
The Coordinating Board is requesting proposals from experts in the field of ABE or a related field to provide a written report recommending specific action steps for designing and implementing a statewide initiative to increase the number, success and persistence of participating ABE students transitioning to Texas public institutions of higher education.

Please note that the deadline for submitting the Notice of Intent is March 17, 2008.  The deadline for the Proposal is April 21, 2008.
