In NC we have access to the Adult Basic Skills Professional Development project found at www.abspd.appstate.edu Teachers have a chance to attend week long sessions every Spring. It's rotating schedule where you work on Reading/Writing/Math . The project produces videos as well as training manuals. The fees are nominal compared to most things and the last Reading manual that was created out of the project had a great Realia manual created to go along with it. If you go to http://www.abspd.appstate.edu/publications/videos.html you will find the videos and at http://www.abspd.appstate.edu/publications/trainingmanuals.html you will find the training manuals. Each link has detailed descriptions of what they are like.

Hi to all,

I work for one of the adult education resource centers in Ohio. My
center specializes in Reading & Writing. For FY09, we are going to
focus our reading PD offerings on vocabulary.

I have been researching online trainings and other resources. We have
been involved in STAR, and I am well versed in Thinkfinity courses and
the NCSALL pieces. Are there any trainings/videos/resources members of
this list would recommend?

Thank you in advance for your time and consideration.

Jenny
